Description:

IC-2000 Rubber-Toughened .5oz CA Adhesive Glue
IC-2000 is a rubber-toughened cyanoacrylate that forms superior shock resistant bonds on non-porous surfaces. The black colored CA has added flexibility for the bonding of metals, fiberglass, rubber, carbon-fiber and other advanced materials. For model use, IC-2000 is ideal for the bonding of bulkheads, formers and servo rails to the inside of fiberglass hulls and fuselages. Setup time is 20-40 seconds, which can be accelerated with INSTA-SET. When cured, IC-2000 is pliable enough to be carved with a hobby knife. IC-2000 is the best adhesive for R/C car tires.

3Not as quick or easy to use as expectedJul 26, 2010

This is a cyanoacrylate (CA) glue, which means, in theory, that it should basically act like super/crazy glue. There are faster and slower drying CAs, runny or gel CAs, and, apparently, rubberized ones like this one.

The glue is black, and that makes it quite a bit harder than I'd expected to see that the adhesive is actually where I want it to be. Like other CA glues, it tends to run a bit out of where you wanted, making the whole area black and making the joint totally hidden. I used it for miniatures and am hoping that it will provide the toughness it's made for -- normal CA glues make a fairly brittle bond which does not get along well with being dropped from table height as happens with wargame miniatures with alarming frequency. I have not yet gotten to test this, however.

I found the setting time to be quite slow for a CA glue, disappointingly so (2+ minutes), although when it finally did set the bond seems to be quite strong, as you'd expect. For miniatures work I would strongly recommend a CA accelerator.

I might encourage someone doing miniature modeling to try the clear rubberized version first - I don't have any experience with it, but I'd hope that the extra flexibility would still be present and the ease of use from being clear would outweigh the extra strength the carbon gives to this glue.

5This stuff rocksFeb 02, 2014

As the title says it so rocks. I did a comparison between this glue and the west marine two part epoxy gluing carbon fiber. Ya no comparison in strength or convenience. Simply cut the top off and off u go, no mixing nonsense. Love this stuff.

5Works wellOct 25, 2013

I used this adhesive to repair several items, made from different materials. Metal to metal and metal to glass were the main adhesions I used it for. It worked perfectly. Try as I might, I was unable to pull the repaired pieces apart. The repairs occurred over several days and the nozzle would clog between uses, but I was able to clear it with a pin.

I use Amazon for most of my purchases and update my reviews if anything changes with the products. I do this so other Amazon users can get a real feel for the life of the product. You can look at my review which will be close to my purchase date and tell how the product is doing as time passes. I am not associated with any company and all opinions are my very own.

5great replacement for Loctite 480Dec 16, 2014
By Erol
Needed to glue a rubber weatherstripping to metal/plastic part on car showing Loctite 480 in the factory service manual. IC-2000 is almost identical and worked perfectly.
